BIOGRAPHY

​

Erke Roosen is a professional dance artist based in New York. She is currently Assistant Choreographer and Dancer with Depth Dance. She is a performer with Mari Meade Dance Collective, Urban Tribe and Keiko Fuji Dance Company NY. She has previously danced with Netherlands Dance Theater 2 in the Netherlands, touring nationally and internationally performing choreographies of Ohad Naharin and Alexander Ekman. She has also performed with Igal Perry’s Peridance Contemporary Dance Company in New York, working with the choreographers Sidra Bell, Brian Arias, Dwight Rhoden and Robyn Mineko Williams. 

 

Erke gained her BFA degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, (Netherlands). Where she trained with Christopher Powney, Wim Broeckx and various dancers of Netherlands Dance Theater teaching NDT repertoire. She has also completed the Certificate Program with excellence of honors at the Peridance Capezio Center in New York, training with Manuel Vignoulle, Francesca Harper and Kristin Sudeikis.

 

She has been involved with various projects both commercial and non commercial. In the Netherlands she performed in the international touring production “Juliette” together with Herman van Veen. In New York, she has danced in a MTV international "Say it in Song” episode, the dance film “Saltwater” with Abanar Dance Company and danced for the New York Fashion Week Shows of Rochambeau and Berenik. 

 

Alongside her main career in dance, she also participates in (dance) modeling projects and she is very passionate about being a Teaching Artist for the non profit organization: Notes in Motion, sharing her love for dance in the public school system in New York.
